Support the Group Psychotherapy Foundation: Make your gift online today!

Dear Friend:

I was recently asked why I am so committed to the work I do for the Group Psychotherapy Foundation (GPF). The answer is simple:

Groups Change Lives. We begin our existence as part of a group, the family, and continue to live and work in groups throughout our lives. The facts about groups are impressive. Recent research in the social sciences and neurosciences are teaching us some profound facts about the importance of groups in individual’s lives. People with strong support systems live longer, are less likely to become mentally or physically ill and are more resilient. The GPF believes in the power of group interventions to improve people’s quality of life and is a leader in supporting the education, training, research and community programs that benefit individuals, families and communities through group work

We hope you will give a gift today.

Social Dreaming Matrix

Category : General News

SOCIAL DREAMING MATRIX

Started in 1982 by sociologist Gordon Lawrence in London, England, social dreaming is a gathering of 6 to 100 participants who sit together for an hour, sharing dreams and free associations, producing a matrix.
Derived from the word for uterus or womb, the matrix is a container from which something grows and develops.

For about five years, some CGPS members and friends have been meeting to form a social dreaming matrix in Durham, currently at the home/offices of Joan and Doug Seiffert. This group is open to friends and members of CGPS.

Meetings are third Mondays from 9:00-11:00AM.

For more information, contact Joan Seiffert at 919-403-8616.
