From Joan Seiffert:
Hello All,
We have just driven down the mountain from Lake Logan, a high-country body of
water that is stunning! Just looking at the lake from the CGPS conference site
was breathtaking....many were murmuring about staying on, not wanting to leave,
taking in the sun on the water, the moving reflections through the autumn
leaves.....ahhh
"Intimacy and Sexuality in the Life of the Group" was the theme, presented,
elucidated, expanded, deepened by David Hawkins, M.D., and experienced by
conference attenders who came from as far away as the North Carolina coast and
South Carolina and as close as the western mountains.
Small groups were processing, hikes were hiked, rocking chairs were rocking and
we even had a Halloween costume-bonfire party with guitars, singers and
s'mores! The accommodations were nothing like any church camp ground I ever
attended...lovely, private, even the food was all right.
Once again we learned and shared together, living the motto of CGPS, Life
Happens in Groups....Many thanks and a whole lot of applause to Ron Vereen and
the Program Committee for making this event possible. Thanks also to the small
group faculty, the party planners, the guitar players and singers and everyone
who participated. Just maybe we'll do it again.
We are already planning our spring event, a one-day meeting in the Triangle, at
the Friday Center, home of fine accommodations and unbeatable food service. Mark
APRIL 24, 2004, on your calendars, day-timers, and in your palm pilots before
another minute goes by. Nationally known Elaine Rapp, Gestalt and Art
Therapist, will be our headliner...more about that later.
