Present yesterday at Moira and Dave's Goat Farm, Dairy in Progress and Small Boy
Hatchery were the gracious hostess herself who fed and toured us, Jae Brainard,
Mary Grigsby, Peter Nagle, Carl Carlin, Russ Hopfenberg, and me.
We missed Ron Vereen, Naila Gazale-Lowe, Caroline Butts, Jane Finch, and Jemme
Stewart; all of these folks, however, were represented by either their sent or
spoken messages and observations which enriched us immeasurably. We kept you
there among us on the front porch. Special thanks goes to Naila whose artistic
interests and concern for our beloved CGPS have put the logo question front and
center.
I am blown away by the fact that we finished the entire agenda one hour ahead of
schedule! Often my experience has been that work expands to fill the time
available. But not Saturday, June 14.
The brochure is on Carl's laptop and backup paper copies are held by others. We
did come up with some fresh marketing ideas which you will be hearing about. As
for the logo, we wrestled with that one, finally determining that the projected
costs of our Fall Conference at Lake Logan are exceeding $10,000, a figure which
throws fear in the hearts of elected officers who are responsible for the
financial well-being, and bills, of CGPS, have us deciding to do logo work on
our own. This is a disappointment to some. Fear is a profound motivator!
As for the endorsements, I am aware that I am responsible for getting them from
David Hawkins, Jemme Stewart and myself. I believe that Russ was contacting
Anne Alonso, Moira would work on Coach K!!! (Can you believe your eyes?) I am
leaving out somebody and need to hear from Carl about who it is.
How we manage to have such a good time and get the work done is a revelation.
Maybe the two are linked. I'll bet on it.
Thanks for all the good work of all our CGPS Board members.
